Common Name: Thatch Palm
Origin: Lesser Antilles
Typical Height: To 8-40 ft.
Stem: Solitary, with fine fibers, closely woven, not forming spines.
Leaf: Palmate, with circular blade, pendulous at tips, silvery-gray lower surface. Inflorescence short and curved beneath leaves. Leaf sheaths two-layered.
Fruit: Purple-black. Seed features six or more narrow, branched grooves.
